Javier Garcia Cuesta ends his historic career!

Javier Garcia Cuesta, a former Portuguese coach, finished his career. The news has appeared on the issue of the Spanish newspapers „Marca“, giving a prominent 71-year-old coach.

Garcia Cuesta was run by the Portuguese team between 1999 and 2005, being the first Spanish coach to play outside the country. He was with Portugal in the final stages of the European Championship 2000 (Croatia), 2002 (Sweden) and 2004 (Germany), as well as at the 2001 World Cup in France and 2003, organized by Portugal.

Garcia Cuesta began to work in football as a fitness coach for Atletico Madrid and then started a handball international career in the United States where he led women’s and men’s teams in several stages. In fact, the qualifying tournament for the Pan American Handball Championship, played in April last year, was the last event of Garcia Cueste, the head of the American men’s team. He was also the coach of Spain, Egypt and Brazil.
