The new edition of the „Handball4all“ project is ahead of us. What distinguishes it from the previous ones we asked the founder of the unique handball camp for coaches and young players Dragan Djukic.
– Every year we reconcile some dice again trying to get the handball back where it is, in the handball hall! Everything started with the group of handball friends wishing to offer a different concept of work to the entire handball community, different from other summer handball events, creating eight years ago the project „Handball4all“ – Summer Academy for Young Players and Trainers. Its main goal is to connect handball enthusiasts from different countries and try to offer them a place where they can exchange, build and improve, their own sports knowledge and handball skills.
We have already become accustomed to the fact that in all seven days the duration of the academy is changing the training units in a very intensive regime – from S & C lessons (instructions related to taking care of one’s own body, nutrition, proper work in the gym, etc.), through individual work in the sports hall until evening theoretical lectures.
This year we are planning to take a step further, or rather a step closer to the original idea! We have great guests, people who made „shade“ handball around us. From abroad we are coming Johan Zanotti (SWE), a coach who has led the youth teams of Sweden and Norway for years, and whose name is related to the development of a handful of players from these two selections, and from Portugal their longtime senior team selector – Rolando Freitas, with this small country, played the EP final for the juniors with the generation in 1990. From the environment, we come from the two biggest creators, not only in the women’s handball in this area: Dragan Adžić, a man without which we could not imagine handball in Montenegro and Nenad Šoštarić, the legendary creator many generations of Croatian handball players. Dejan Peric will be in charge of working with the goalkeepers, and I must say that he has the privilege of having it with us this year, and our fitness coach – Marko Sesum will try to present his philosophy of work in this field, there will be various tests, the development of individual work plans , use of fitlight technology in physical work, etc. In the end, as a whisper to all of these, a sports psychologist Bojana Jelicic will again be with us, which will help us understand the factors necessary for success in sports.
Since the concept is such that the number of participants is limited to 18-20 players and 10-12 trainers who follow the work at the academy, we will try this time to introduce ourselves better than before on our Youtube channel as well as through social networks and let others get to know each other with the very idea. What needs to be said, however, is that „Handball4all“ has never been a mass-use project and that we are really proud to learn from each other, exchanging our own knowledge!
This year’s eighth edition is held in Kladovo from 2-8. July with the participation of players and trainers from SRB, MKD, CRO, MNE, SWE, POR, ISR, JPN, TUN, IRN and TUR, and topics and schedule of activities, as well as some more information about previous issues can be found at www.handball4all. org
