It took time for Slavko Goluži to list his work in the Slovak champion on the frequencies he wanted. The first season is solid, playing in the group phase of the EHF Cup, the second one for the moment, excellent. This is testified to by three related wins on visiting teams such as Besiktas and Meškov Brest, and also the last scalp of the Danish Silkeborg with stars like Markusen, Knudsen, Skube, far from being for throwing. The way we play is the fruit of good work, good preparation, and one great disclaimer. Three difficult games, thank God, ended in the best possible way. The big ones are victories because we played without three left backs, halfway through the back line, we remained without Kasal, Krok and Rabeka. Do these victories impose more serious goals, above all placement in the first two places in the group and the playoffs for the eighth finals of the EHF Champions League?
We want a lot, we have raised the ladder and we have quality. There will be no failure if that does not happen, because the group is really good. Everyone can win us, but we can get everyone. There are chances, we are still at 50-50, Sporting, Silkeborg, Besiktas and we. There are no favorites, except perhaps Danes who have serious names in a team such as Nodesbo, Skube, Markusen, Rasmussen, Knudsen. It does not play a budget. He plays the one who wants more, and the more disciplined team wins.
When will the Tatran be complete?
It will take some time, Rabek has a month and a half training in the last year and a half. Cork is two and a half short, Kasal a month and a half. It is important to endure this period, and after the EHF week we will prepare them for the upcoming games.

He plays better and better, not only he, but also the whole team. We have a dimension more with him in the team. I’m telling him to calm down, to be more rational, but such are young players, the desire of the game, the move, the success. He does a lot of good things, there are mistakes. To be calm in some situations, it would be even better. The boy is positive, busy, the future is ahead of him.
Has the Tatran made such a „fourth place“ in the SEHA Gazprom League at the start of the season in such parties?
We do not burden ourselves with the fight for the fourth place, we want every match to win. We enter motivated in every match. Will we succeed? The most important thing is that there are chances, not thinking about F4, but about every next step. There is no load, a young team, a period of maturation is required.
You have decided that the domestic championship is a bit „different to understand“ after the years of besmirchnogo spending on several fronts …
Before this season, we moved with the owner of the club, Mr. Hmeler, I suggested that the B team play weaker matches in the domestic championship, and that we play 5-6 most important. The boss supported this with great understanding, and everything meant a lot to us. I’m listening to colleagues who complain when they play 40-50 games during the season, and we played 80! There is a lack of training, a long trip. The boss understood the proposal, he supported it and now it’s OK. We are not burdened, B team plays, and we know what is the ultimate goal, all trophies in Slovakia and we are not running away.
Was the arrival in Tatran in 2017 a good move and what did Slavko Goluji bring on a professional level?
I chose Tatran for a number of reasons. I saw that I could make great progress in that team, I chose young players who wanted to work, as I was myself in those years. This is a heart team, we use maximum time to work. What I changed in my work compared to last season is that I devote more time to tactical details. Last year, I could not, because the team needed to prepare better as soon as I was welcomed by what awaited me. I did not crack, I adapted to work. It does not live out some victories and clutter on the shoulder. I use every opportunity for this team to prove. I am satisfied, I am calm, I work devoted, it does not work behind my back like somewhere, no stories are made that are made up. I stay the same, my job is handball and I’m in there. My work is seen. From Tatran, who was two years ago the team I was, I made a respectable team. I’m glad to hear nice comments from people from all over the region, but I’m on both feet on the ground. It needs to be repeated day by day, matches in the match.
