The handball players of Buducnost returned to Podgorica a few days ago because one of the girls was positive for coronavirus. Preparations that began in Kolasin have unfortunately been interrupted.
The professional staff and the handball players are in self-isolation, and the new move of joint work, which started on Monday, could create problems because the Champions League starts on September 12.
- The club and the girls did everything necessary to start the preparations, which the tests confirmed before leaving for Kolasin. We were responsible, with the desire to welcome the preparations. When I say this, I also mean girls who arrived from abroad and who trained with special recommendations and who are tested every third day. Unfortunately, this situation could have been expected at this moment, and it happened to us at the beginning of our joint work. We, of course, after learning to interrupt the preparations, made a plan and program for the future and shared the work plan for individual trainings. I have no doubt that the girls will continue to maintain their condition in such conditions, which they confirmed in Kolasin. I believe, and that is the most important thing at this moment, that he will remain in positive thinking, with a high level of confidence that this situation will stabilize. If we succeed in self-isolation, then everything we have done will have real significance „, said Adzic and continued.
- I believe that all this will provoke a certain reaction from the people who are responsible for implementing and preventing the spread of the virus. It is impossible to welcome competitions in this way, if we were in isolation with every positive member. Perhaps our case will influence the finding of solutions that, of course, will not endanger health, and would enable athletes and teams, to some extent, to function and hope for competitions. This way it is simply impossible.
When asked what and how to proceed, Adzic said:
- It will depend on the epidemiological situation in the team. If the situation is stable, we will continue to work and try to compensate for this part. I am sure that we will do everything to ensure that this never happens again, because another jump would take us away from the very possibility of normal functioning and appearance in the Champions League. We will listen to the recommendations until the end. Maybe we will return to Kolašin, concluded the trophy coach of Buducnost.
