Buducnost started with a defeat in the first game of the EHF Champions League against Podravka. In addition to not playing 11 players, the coach of Buducnost, Dragan Adzic, saw his team like this a few minutes after the premiere match in Koprivnica.
– I am proud of all the girls and what they have shown since the first training in the new season, both the most experienced and those who have been waiting for them in our team and the youngest. Although we were weakened in Koprivnica, we showed that everything depends on us. If we hadn’t missed two weeks of preparation and there was no self-isolation of the entire team after the appearance of the corona virus, this team without 11 players could be competitive and play the entire match at the level we showed in the first half. All of that, however, is behind us. We are building the game and I believe that we are on the right path, for which I am grateful to the players and the professional staff. What we have shown today gives me hope that we can reach a game that will start to bring us points. The most important thing is to grow as the season progresses, because the situation has forced us to fight now to be among the six teams in the group that continue to compete in the Champions League – said Dragan Adzic.
