The most famous Russian coach in the 21st century, Vladimir Maksimov, received a large part from Russia for his work in the field of sports, specifically handball.
The hall in the representative sports facility „Olympic“ in Chekhov will be called „Vladimir Maksimov“. The procedure for renaming the building is in the final phase and the act will be solemnly realized soon.
As a player, Maksimov won a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Montreal, and as a coach, the European Championship; WC and Olympics and the only one together with Claude Onest who has such an achievement in men’s handball. He is the creator of the Chekhov Bears project, where he continues to work actively as a trainer.
