The national team of Denmark easily and convincingly defeated the weakened selection of Macedonia 37:21, within the fourth round of the qualification group 7 for going to the European Championship, which is scheduled for next January.
The world champion showed strength after a shocking defeat in Skopje and took first place in the group. However, the selector Nikolaj Jakobsen himself is aware of the fact that his team’s job was significantly facilitated by not playing Lazarov and Mirkulovski.
– This was a solid week for us, but we still wanted to win both matches. However, there was a big difference between Macedonia, which we played against today, and the one we lost to on Thursday. Now we have the opportunity to win the first place in the group, if we triumph in the remaining two matches, which was our goal in these qualifications. We hoped to finish the job by now, but we did not succeed in that, we still have to do our best. We played a solid game, fixing many things that were bad in Skopje. We are satisfied with what was done, although at times it could have been better. We played much faster compared to the game on Thursday – said Jakobsen after the convincing victory of his national team.
