Unexpected news from Sweden – Ljubomir Vranjes is no longer the coach of Kristianstad. The participant of the EHF Europa League is only in the seventh place in the domestic championship, with seven points less than the leading Malmö, but the club’s management does not cite bad results as the reason for parting, but an unenviable situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Allegedly, Vranješ himself offered his resignation to the club in order to help economically, taking his salary from the budget. After deliberation, the club leaders accepted her.
– We are grateful to Vranješ for his commitment during two years of work, although we were not able to strengthen the team as we planned this year. The problems caused by the pandemic, finances, made nothing happen as before, as we are used to, but the coaches and players remained loyal to the club and fought as if everything was fine – it is stated, among other things, in the statement of Kristianstad.
Ljubo Vranješ’s successor is Ufa Larson, who has so far led the B team of the Swedish champion. Vranjes is still the coach of Slovenia, which he will lead at the World Cup in Egypt next month.
