The Croatian national team gathered at the beginning of the decisive week when it comes to qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games. In the duels with France, Portugal and Tunisia, the national team led by Hrvoje Horvat will try to secure one of the two places leading to Tokyo.
Croatia travels to Montpellier on Thursday morning. The first meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 12 at 9:00 PM with host France. A day later, the opponent is Portugal at 6:30 PM, and the last match with Tunisia will be played at the same time on Sunday, March 14, 2021.
Hrvoje Horvat, selector of the men’s senior national team:
„I feel great, the final gathering, now the tasks and roles are a little different and I hope that everything will go in the right direction. Most of the national team is here now and we will all be here by tomorrow night. Tunisia is an aggressive team, quite fast and quite awkward. Portugal which is a well-coordinated team and that is their biggest advantage because most of the players come from Porto. And the French, you don’t need to spend a lot of words, a very demanding team and will primarily prevent their transition. I think the details will decide. With these five training sessions, I believe we will show progress in the game. „
