During the next six months, Obilić’s handball players will be led by Marko Pavlović, who will have his first coaching engagement. The former international, especially known to the domestic public for his games in the Partizan jersey, will succeed Daniel Petković, to whom he was previously an assistant.
„Daniel actually referred me to coaching. When he left the club, there were a couple of candidates for the position of coach. They talked to me, we have a similar philosophy, so we found each other, at least for these six months, „said Pavlović, who started playing handball in the club that will lead from the bench.
Obilic is currently in seventh place in the table of Group B of the ARKUS league with six points. The score of three victories and eight defeats puts the Belgrade team in a very unenviable situation, where they are facing a struggle for survival.
„Like all clubs, we had problems due to the corona virus pandemic. In some games we played incomplete and that cost us points. However, all that happened to other teams, which may have done better than us. In the continuation, a struggle for survival awaits us. I sincerely hope that we will achieve our goal, and that is, above all, to remain members of the ARKUS league.
“ After the break, Obilić will first visit Crvena zvezda, then he will meet Metaloplastika in Banjica, and in the last round they will have a trip to Niš and a match with Železničar. „For now, we are doing great, the guys are training, the response is good and I hope that it will continue like that. I brought fitness coach Miloš Mitrović, with whom I had a very nice experience as a player in Partizan. He is otherwise a good friend of mine and I asked him for help, as this is my first independent job. Let’s try to raise some things to a higher level and make it all a little more professional, „said Pavlović.
