GC Amicitia Zurich has separated from Jakub Szymanski as head coach with immediate effect. Experienced coach Petr Hrachovec is now on the sidelines. The 48-year-old Czech signed with the Hoppers until the end of the season with an option for two more years. In a total of 7 years with the Kadetten Schaffhausen, Hrachovec was the most successful coach in the club’s history by titles. His contract with Munotstadt was not renewed at the end of last season. In Schaffhausen he was last Swiss champion in 2019 during his second engagement, took part in the EHF Champions League and was well on the way to defending his title with his team before the 2020 season ended. He was introduced to the team when training started after the Christmas break.
